The post holder and their team will work with key local statutory stakeholders and external partners, including significant co-production alongside people using health and social care services throughout Torbay. With outstanding personal values and a range of experience across programme delivery, stakeholder management and business processes, this role will be responsible for the effective delivery of commissioning activity. Alongside transactional commissioning colleagues within our partner NHS Trust, you will drive the collaborative delivery of improved outcomes for Torbay’s citizens, using relevant and specific subject matter expertise. Working closely with senior managers in the Council and NHS, this role is focused on providing programme leadership, insight and capacity, specifically focused on the learning disability, mental health and autism workstreams.

Highly integrated across health and social care, our commissioners manage future challenges, leveraging expertise and capability to deliver Torbay’s joint strategic objectives for adult services. Strategic commissioning to improve adult social care is a key function within Torbay Council, working across the Council and our NHS-led integrated care organisation to deliver better results and bring about significant market transformation.
